Wow, time flies! I can't believe two months have passed since I have last written!
I am happy to say that I finished my first year of Occupational Therapy School, and I couldn't be happier! Over the past year, I learned more than I could have ever imagined and met some of the greatest people! I have absolutely loved every moment of living in Charleston. I am now ONE step closer to becoming a Pediatric Therapist!
With the first year of OT school coming to a close, I have also enjoyed a five week vacation. This vacation has been so nice. I must admit I have been quite lazy at times, but it was just what I needed after a long year of school!
The day after my break began,I visited my hometown and enjoyed a bridal luncheon for one of my best friend's, Samantha. The food was delicious, and the fellowship was great. Later that evening I along with five lovely ladies returned to Charleston and ventured out to enjoy some dancing for her last weekend as an unmarried lady. We had so much fun! :) The following weekend was her wedding! The bride was BEAUTIFUL, the weather was great, and everything about the wedding and reception were awesome! The day could not have been more perfect in my eyes! I am so happy for Samantha and Rocky! I hope each day of their life is filled with happiness and joy!
The weekend following her wedding was Mother's Day! My brother and I decided to get together at his family's house and cook out. We had a wonderful time spending the day with the beautiful lady that we call our mother! I am so thankful to have such a loving and caring mother.
Over my vacation I was also able to visit a place dear to my heart with the ones I love. My dad, mom, nephew, and I spent a few days in Clemson. All of you who know me know just how much I LOVE that place! "It's just something about those hills!"
On Monday, Dad and A enjoyed some time on the putting green at the golf course near the hotel. I was impressed at how patient A was as dad taught him how to putt the ball. Later that evening, my friend Laura came to visit and hang out at the pool with us where we spent a few hours that evening. I found it pretty funny that when A talked to his parents on the phone he told them that the pool and hot tub were his favorite part especially since he has a pool at his house! Leave it to kids!:) On Tuesday, we took A downtown Clemson. I think it was like an ORANGE overload for him. There were so many items to buy,it was very hard for him to pick out just a few things. He ended up getting Meme (my mom) to buy him several Clemson things. I should mention that since last Tuesday he has been sleeping with his new "official size" Clemson football and tiger beanie baby that he named Charlie. After a few hours of shopping, we then took A to the baseball game. He loved it and wanted to stay until it was over! We had an awesome trip and the TIGERS won!! :)
This past weekend I had some pretty special guests; my cousin's family! I really enjoyed them visiting as L and I read several books, made a tent, and sat on the porch playing with toys! On Sunday, we also visited the beach. Of course, she loved playing in the sand and jumping the waves. I can't wait for them to come back soon!
Finally the beginning of this week I visited my friend(who just got married) and her husband. Samantha and I had decided that we would paint her kitchen cabinets while I was visiting. It was not an easy job, but we were able to get most of it done in the two days I was there. I had a wonderful time visiting their new beautiful home, and the freshly painted cabinets look GREAT! I am so glad that I was able to spend time with my wonderful friend!! I look forward to going seeing her again soon!
Needless to say after a busy yet relaxing vacation, I suppose I will spend the next several days preparing to go back to school! I am excited because I am ready to see all of my fellow OT classmates and continue towards graduation, but I am also sad because I wish break was not over so soon!
Until next time, much love friends! :)
