It's been a while since my last post. Since then we have said hello and goodbye to the shortest month of the year,February and a very busy month for me. Well now it's on to March and hopefully some warmer and sunnier weather is in store for Charleston. Tonight, I am going to write about some things that I have experienced in the recent weeks and months.
Over the past several weeks I have been working with a little boy as part of an independent study. Although I am unable to tell you more specifics about this cute little fella, I will tell you that this experience has been nothing short of AMAZING! As I reflect back, I must say that these visits have confirmed what I already thought and that is 100% no doubt my calling is to work and help children. Children amaze me so much and each one of them is so beautiful and smart in their own way. Most of all they are so appreciative of the small things. Today while visiting the little fella, my heart nearly melted as I was leaving because he ran up to me and gave me a big hug and waved bye bye! I am so happy that through the wonderful opportunities at school and in the community that I have become so passionate about what I will spend the rest of my life doing. My goal is to help each of these children "Live Life to the Fullest." After all, Occupational Therapy is all about helping others with the occupation of "living." And I am willing to give 100%! “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Until next time, much love to all! :)
