Friends FOREVER

Yesterday I (along with 5 other bridesmaids) held a shower for my dear friend, Samantha. Despite the very cold and rainy weather, Samantha had a wonderful turn out from family and friends and received many beautiful gifts.

How Samantha and I became friends:
Samantha and I grew up in Orangeburg and both started out first grade at OP. We knew of each other in elementary school, although I don't ever remember being in the same class with her. However, by middle school we became enemies. Yes, ENEMIES!!! We were both bratty little middle school girls, who wanted it our way! By the time we were in 10th grade, we began hanging out more and becoming friends. By senior year, Samantha, Katie, Brittney, and I were 4 close friends. One thing I remember most is going through the drive-thru of Wendy's near 601, while we were listening to Pastor Troy(For those of you who don't know, this is a rap song). I reached out the window to get our bag of food and Samantha leaned over and asked the guy if he knew "The Pastor." I guess you had to be there, but the look on the guy's face was PRICELESS. Wow, it is amazing what 4 years and a little maturity will do for two people. :) Following our senior year, Samantha went off to Winthrop and I went to Clemson.Even though we were 100+ miles apart, our friendship remained strong.
Now nearly 6 years later, Samantha and I are still the best of friends. I am so thankful to have a friend like her and am so honored to be a part of her special day!! I wish her and Rocky a lifetime full of love and could not be happier for them.
